More Introduction
1. INMETRO certification introduction
INMETRO is Brazil's national accreditation body (Accreditation Body), responsible for the formulation of Brazilian national standards. Most of Brazil's product standards are based on IEC and ISO standards, and manufacturers who need to export their products to Brazil should refer to these two sets of standards when designing their products. All products that meet the Brazilian standards and other technical requirements must be marked with the mandatory INMETRO logo and the logo of an accredited third-party certification agency before they can enter the Brazilian market.
2. Scope of INMETRO certified products
(1) Mandatory category
IT equipment, home appliances, active medical devices
(2) Voluntary category
Home appliances, consumer electronics (audio and video products), information technology equipment and lighting, etc.
3. INMETRO certification standards
Testing and certification are based on Brazilian NBR standards. If there is no corresponding NBR standard for such products, the IEC standard can be used (the Brazilian standard is converted from the IEC standard plus the national deviation).
4. INMETRO certification process
Compulsory Certification Procedure
(1) Application;
(2) Acceptance;
(3) Issue a test notice (1 sample);
(4) Sample test;
(5) Rectification (if the test fails);
(6) Pass the test;
(7) Issue a test report;
(8) Arrange factory inspection;
(9) On-site audit (2 Brazilian on-site auditors);
(10) Issue an on-site audit report;
(11) report evaluations;
(12) Issuing certificates;
(13) annual supervision;
(14) Certificates continue.
The application procedures for voluntary certification are slightly different from those for compulsory certification, which do not require on-site review and are more convenient and flexible. Voluntary certification may not apply first, and then apply after completing the test in the INMETRO accredited laboratory.

Six, INMETRO certification introduction precautions
1. In Brazil, the plug must comply with the standard NBR 14136, NBRNM 60884-1. From January 1, 2009, the NEMA plug was officially eliminated;
2. If it is a CB report of circuit breaker products issued by other laboratories , some tests must be added (the plan is designated by Brazil);
3. For small circuit breakers, the I2t curve under each current must be submitted before certification;
4. There are LCIE test reports and CIG023 reports for electronics, which can be directly transferred to INMETRO certificates;
5. Other matters needing attention: the application method is CB transfer certificate; if there are factory inspection requirements, accept the CIG023 factory inspection report or do factory inspection; the certificate is valid for 1 year or 3 years.
