1. Introduction of EU REACH certification
REACH refers to the EU regulation "Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals", which is the EU regulation for preventive management of all chemicals entering its market. It will be officially implemented on June 1, 2007. It involves substances, preparations, articles, and in terms of articles, it is mainly the transmission of information on substances of very high concern (SVHC). So far, there are 163 kinds of SVHC, which will be added in the future. ECHA is consulting the public about 20 new substances, which will be added to the SVHC list.
2. EU REACH certified product types
1. Registration
All chemical substances with an annual production or import volume exceeding 1 ton need to be registered, and a chemical safety report should also be submitted for chemical substances with an annual production or import volume of more than 10 tons.
2. Evaluation
Includes dossier assessment and substance assessment. Dossier evaluation is to verify the completeness and consistency of the registration dossier submitted by the business. Substance assessment refers to confirming the risk of chemical substances harming human health and the environment.
3. Authorization
Authorize the production and import of chemical substances that have certain hazardous properties and are highly regarded, including CMR, PBT, vPvB, etc.
4. Restriction
The manufacture or importation of a substance or its preparations or preparations within the EU will be restricted if it is considered that the risks to human health and the environment cannot be adequately controlled due to its manufacture, placing on the market or use.
