ST COA
ST COA is a product safety certification system implemented by the Malaysian Ministry of Energy (Suruhanjaya Tenaga-Energy Commission). Products within the mandatory scope must apply for a COA (Certification of Approvals) certificate from the Malaysian Ministry of Energy before they can enter the Malaysian market for sales.

1. Introduction of ST COA Certification
ST COA is a product safety certification system implemented by the Malaysian Ministry of Energy (Suruhanjaya Tenaga-Energy Commission). Products within the mandatory scope must apply for a COA (Certification of Approvals) certificate from the Malaysian Ministry of Energy before they can enter the Malaysian market for sales.
2. ST COA certified product range
ST COA certified products mainly have the following categories:
1. Adapter products
2. AV products, including high-fidelity devices, audio and video players, radios, etc.
3. Large and small home appliances, such as rice cookers, microwave ovens, toasters, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, electric water heaters
4. Electric fans, hair dryers, irons, etc.
5. Lighting products, including LED lamps, table lamps, Christmas lights, fluorescent lamps, ballasts, etc.
6. Parts products, including plugs, switches, sockets, wires and cables, ceiling light boxes and other products
7. Household power tools
3. ST COA certification standard
Malaysia's national standard is the MS (Malaysia Standard) standard, and the MS standard for product safety certification basically adopts the same national IEC standard.
4. ST COA certification application process
1. If the customer does not have a test report, it needs to be tested
2. The client prepares the information and submits the application to UEST
3.UEST submits the information to the agent, and the agent submits it to the official agency ST
4.ST audit documents and issue certificates

5. ST COA certification mark
There are mainly two kinds of labels corresponding to ST COA certification, one is SIRIM label and the other is SIRIM certification mark. Note that all labels must be affixed to the product itself, not the packaging. The following is an introduction to the two types of labels:
1.SIRIM label: As shown below, there are two types:
1) Certification label PCS (Product Certification Scheme ): As shown on the left, it can be affixed directly in the factory, but it needs to apply for factory inspection.
2) Batch label BTS (Batch testing scheme): As shown in the picture on the right, when the goods arrive at the port for random inspection, you can purchase the label from SIRIM QAS with an ST COA certificate, and no factory inspection is required.
2.SIRIM certification mark: As shown in the figure below, the mark can be affixed in two cases:
Insufficient product size or other special circumstances cannot attach the above label; 2) It belongs to the PCS certification method.
6. Information about ST COA certification
Certification Type: Mandatory
Technical Information: 240V, 50HZ
Factory inspection: Generally not required. If you apply for the method of affixing the certification label in the factory, you need to accept the factory inspection
Licensee requirements: Must be a local registered importer
Certificate validity: 1 year
Note: The COA certificate is valid for 1 year. The applicant needs to complete the update of the COA 14 days before the expiration date of the certificate. The label must be purchased from SIRIM according to the actual import volume or production volume of the product.
